Stay in our off grid cabin above the clouds.
Adventure and wonder awaits you
Drive a short 1 hour 15 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD along the Hume Highway, and you’ll find our Tiny House nestled in 100 acres of private bushland with mountain views. Positioned to make the most of the sweeping views, you’ll catch every magical sunrise, and enjoy the changing light in the evening as the shadows fall over the land.
Perched spectacularly atop steep hills, our hilltop Tiny House offers a slower pace of life, a chance for you to escape the rat race and be nurtured by nature. Our Tiny House is full of warmth and character, and has everything you need for a comfortable and unforgettable stay – including an outdoor bath where you can bathe under the stars!
Giving a rustic sense of luxury, this tiny oasis lets you connect with nature. Relax at sunrise and sunset on the deck, overlooking steep views as if you are on the edge of the world. You’ll enjoy watching our resident kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, and more (rabbits, deer, you name it!) all grazing peacefully.
Some handy information
-
Check-in is at 3pm (not earlier), check-out is before 11am (no later, please). Please wash and put away the dishes and pop your rubbish in the bins provided. Remember to lock the door and close the property gate behind you.
-
Please bring your own food and drinks to indulge in. We have the essentials (oil, salt and pepper) covered, along with tea and coffee from local makers. We have a bar fridge (which is surprisingly roomy!), and shelves for you to keep your pantry items, and there is a two plate induction cooktop for you to prepare your meals.
-
There is mobile reception onsite, though some providers will have better coverage than others. We do not have WiFi available.
-
You will be off grid, and as such, resources are not unlimited. We encourage short showers as the property is serviced by a rain water tank. You will have gas instant hot water and we have a spare bottle on site should it run out. Your electricity is powered by the sun - so a cloudy day will have an impact though we have tried our best to mitigate this with a large solar system and multiple batteries. There is a battery monitor so you can check your usage, and its alarm will go off if it gets to 15% so you know to turn off the air conditioner and fill up those hot water bottles if you’re chilly!
-
We get it, life happens, and sometimes you’ll need to cancel. We try to be as flexible as possible. We currently use third party sites for you to book your stay, so our cancellation policy is in line with these and are easily read as part of the booking. As a ball park, you can usually cancel up to a week before your stay. Re-bookings are subject to availability.

There a few tricks to help you stay cool - roll the blinds down to protect the house from the sun, and open up the windows for a cross breeze. There are also multiple fans for a comfortable sleep, plus a reverse cycle air conditioner if you need it!
-
If you are outside, you can enjoy the large fire pit (not during the fire ban period though!). Inside you will have a reverse cycle air-conditioner and hot water bottles. We like to say there’s enough power for three hours of the air-conditioner as a minimum - keep an eye on the battery monitor so you can keep the lights on! Water is heated by gas, and we encourage you to use the hot water bottles to keep warm. Our tiny home is insulated, and has double glazed windows and blinds to help keep you toasty.

This is a wild part of Australia and the onus ultimately is on you when it comes to keeping safe. Be mindful of snakes and other wild animals, such as deer. You’ll enjoy spotting the kangaroo, echidna, parrots, and other stunning native wildlife as they meander about the property though!

To check if the Fire Danger Period is in place for the Mitchell Shire, and for what you can and can’t do, head to the CFA website.
In the event of a bush fire, if it’s safe to do so, drive away from the property immediately, leave the gates open and exit out the driveway.
