Leo by Elle Pervez - Leo is a print from my collection, ‘A Tale of Land and Sky’. This collection brings together my love of land and sky, of constellations, and the stories we tell to bring meaning and connections to our daily lives.

My star sign is Leo, and growing up I used to read through Leo’s characteristics and always feel a bit lost, deciding that this extroverted star sign just did not fit with me. A few years back, a friend said to me that, yes, I WAS a Leo. She related it back to family and warmth, and I have always loved her interpretation. With that in mind, I painted Leo to connect with my childhood family home on the banks of the Lachlan River.

So this Leo is for all the Leo’s who felt a little bewildered at their star sign, and yet found a way to connect, to find meaning. This Leo is warm like filtered sunlight, she’s family centered and a lioness to protect them. This daughter of the sun always has your back, and though not the loudest Leo in the room, she’s your cheerleader always.
